Beef Shares - 1/4, 1/2 and Whole Bulk Orders
We offer our beef in whole, half, and quarter beef options, giving you the opportunity to stock your freezer with high-quality, home-grown beef and customize your cuts to fit your family’s needs. Each animal is processed individually, allowing you to choose how your beef is cut and packaged, from steaks and roasts to burger and specialty items.
Understanding Beef Weights & Yield
When purchasing bulk beef, pricing is based on hanging weight, not the final packaged weight. Here’s what that means:
Live Weight: The weight of the animal before harvest.
Hanging Weight: The weight after the hide, head, blood, and inedible parts are removed. Hanging weight is typically about 60–62% of live weight and is what bulk beef pricing is based on.
Packaged (Cut) Weight: The final amount of beef you take home after the meat is aged, cut, and trimmed. This weight is lower than hanging weight due to moisture loss during aging, bone removal and trimming.
Because every animal is different, final weights and total costs will vary slightly with each order.
Approximate Take-Home Amounts
While exact weights vary, here is the typical hanging weight and final take home weight after the hanging time is complete.
Whole Beef
800-1000 lbs hanging weight → 500-600 lbs packaged beefHalf Beef
400-500 lbs hanging weight → 245–310lbs packaged beefQuarter Beef
